fabulous wife Brittany in Blue Ridge, Georgia.
He is a talented graphic artist and occasional web designer too!
Brittany Newberry is an entrepreneur and a talented knitter! She too has her own
WEB SITE
for all you knitters and wanna-be knitters! She has a master’s degree
in both nursing and environmental health. We have three kids – Brogan
(Now a new dad!) - 29, Ian - 23 and Nathan -18 We are having a great time
together on this path we walk called life!!
We
are just a couple of regular people who are tired and fed up with the
way so many people and government organizations are treating our earth
and our natural resources today. We just decided that since we are at a
point in our lives where we have some extra time that we really wanted
to put forth that time into doing something meaningful for our planet.
We are just two people that care about the air we breathe, the water we
drink, the land we live on and the creatures that inhabit the earth.
We were sitting around in our hot tub one
morning (where all our great ideas seem to be born) having coffee and
discussing how fed up we are with the lack of action towards
environmental issues and policies. We kept saying to each other “We
just want to be MORE proactive but what can we do?”. Thus an idea was
born. We have such great connections in the local music industry and we
know we have a great group of friends that care about environmental
issues and would be willing to donate some of their great music playing
time and their help! We knew we did not want to host a ‘politically
charged’ event. We wanted to do something that would raise people’s
awareness about important environmental issues and educate them on ways
they can actually get involved!
So, we got right to work picking out a name, a venue and
finding an organization that we could donate proceeds to for this first
festival. We were totally clueless. We have never done anything like
this before. We just knew we could pull together the resources to make
it happen! Then, things just fell into place! The
Georgia Conservancy stepped right up to
offer help for our event so that their organization could benefit from
much needed funding for their great programs! Our kids, Brogan and Ian
Newberry and Nathan Holley, stepped up and offered help and musical
talent, the Five Spot stepped up and offered space, many of our friends
offered help however they could and so forward it went! Ian's
band
played at the festival.
We SO MUCH appreciate everyone’s support
and helping us do something to help our precious environment!! We
couldn’t have done this without all of the help that has been offered to
us! We are already thinking about the 2nd annual Footprint
Festival and where it will be and what it will look like! Suggestions
are always welcome!!! You can contact us at
